Thanksgiving Day!

Carter thought he was the one in charge of the turkey, so he made sure he was checking it pretty regularly.

The end result!

Carter in Process!
Found the wishbone!

This year was going to be the first year that we did Thanksgiving as a family. I really like spending time with family, but I really hate the hurry go here, just so you can hurry and go here. It makes the Holidays very hard, and seems to take away from what the Holidays are truly about. So this being the first year, we decided to spend Thanksgiving at home. We really thought it would be fun to make a Turkey, with the Stuffing, Pie, Cranberries, Potatoes, and just enjoy a day of relaxation and watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. We thought it would be fun to make the Turkey, and I loved taking pictures of the entire process. We also enjoyed spending time together Wednesday night while Carter went to bed early. And what did we do you ask, well the old married couple that we are, I scrapbooked while he played computer games. At the same time we baked our Scrumptious Pumpkin Pie. The best part of Thanksgiving was that we did it all by ourselves. We ate our Thanksgiving dinner in our Pj's too.
After spending the entire day together just having fun as a family, Jeremy and I decided to head to Michaels because they had an awesome sale! Jeremy isn't into shopping like I am, but because they had Cricut cartridges on sale for $29.99 ($60 savings), he was willing to go with me and stand in line. Yes, I say stand in line, on Thanksgiving, for scrapbooking stuff. He grumble a little, but not too much. He was just mad cause he wanted McDonald's. Well, he was pretty bummed out, since they were closed! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Next year, we thought about New York, and the Macy's Thanksgiving day Parade!

Early Monday Morning....

So, I have a Monday off, which doesn't happen very often, but I was really looking forward to get to sleep in, and relax all day. Well I really knew that was not going to happen, because I have homework from here to Hong Kong to finish, and the housework also needs some attention. But I have to say that Carter really hates when dad has to work at 8 AM, cause he is then up at 6:30 and he is a grouch! You can't even look at him or he crabs! Oh well, anyways, Jeremy starts his new job today and he is super happy, even though he cant wear jeans anymore. Hopefully this is what he really wants which I think it is.

A hunting we will go....

....OK, well not really. But Carter loved the fact that he was able to enjoy viewing the dead deer hanging from my parents garage. So the plan was to have his picture taken, with grandpa and grandpas deer, but when we arrived at my parents, everyone was yelling we have water every where. So I ran downstairs, and helped vacuum up water. Mind you it was clean water, but it was about an inch thick. So, while Tammy, Mom, Jeremy and I cleaned up water, they had already cut the deer up. So thank the lord, Chad came to my rescue, and shot his first deer, so Carter could explore a dead deer hanging from its legs.
Carter loved the fact that he was hanging with the guys in the garage, and enjoyed touching the deer that was hanging from the ceiling. Little gross, but he liked it just like the dog, and even said nice, nice, when he was petting it. So he isn't afraid of anything either.

Bispaghetti what a great family meal.....

.....and a great meal to just let your 15 month old eat, the way he likes to eat it. He just likes to get down and dirty and enjoy his nummy nummy food. Yeah, I just loved it cause, it was more like a mini photo shoot, than a family meal.
So my favorite part, was after the "mini" photo shoot, he was able to get a bath which is his most favorite past time, and then run around the house bare, butt naked. Loving it I might add!

Where have the last 15 months gone????

I have been a little busy lately, but thought I should update everyone on the life of Carter. Monday he was the big 15 months. Where has the past 15 months gone? If you find out let me know. Today he went to the Dr, and got 4 shots. Pretty bad, but he is at least happy today. He has learned how to scream at the top of his lungs. He thinks its funny, me not so much. And he is officially out of the highchair. We had to break down and get a booster seat, so now he sits at the table with mom and dad. At first I really didn't think it was going to make a difference, but now when Jeremy has to work late, Carter will actually eat for me. That's a huge improvement.

In other news....we are looking into finishing off our basement. We are in dire need of a toy room. Like asap. We also need a larger dining area, a front door, a two stall garage, and a second bathroom. So it has been super fun looking into all the different options that we have. I love remodeling, I just hate the remodel process. But I love the planning stage. Now if I could just be like bewitched, and bam, it be complete I would be super happy. We all know that isn't going to happen though. The best part we will be making room for when we start to think about baby number 2, which isn't for a while, but we will be able to have baby number 2 and have room!

Well its about time to get going on homework, since Carter is down for a nap. I wish I was down for a nap too!!!

Trick-or-Treat

My favorite little monkey!

Carter got to enjoy Halloween, by visiting various family members. First we started out by Grandpa and Grandma Reintjes. Carter enjoyed being chased by grandpa, which is what those to love to do when they get together. Then he decided since he didn't get a nap, he would nap on the way into St. Peter. So we headed to see his godmother Holly. After that we headed to visit with Great Grandma Mona (Oldemor) and Great Grandpa Ray. Then we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Bruns, where Great aunt Tammy, and Great Uncle Timmy were. And his all time favorite, Uncle Ben and Aunt Devan. He was happy to get to take his costume off, and hand out candy. He was the door boy, and made sure the door was shut every time a trick-or-treater left the door. Next year should be lots of fun, and we can hopefully go trick-or-treating more. Mom and dad decided to just lay low, and enjoy some much needed sleep. It would have been fun to go out, but we enjoyed sleeping in until the big 7:45 AM! It was awesome!

Pretty sad, this was just after one stop, and he was out like a light. He did wake up an enjoy handing out candy later at my parents.
