Conversations

I have to share this funny conversation with Carter today. He is getting more and more words under his tongue. Today, he got out of his big boy bed, with blanket in hand, and came out to the TV turned it on, then after about 5 minutes of drinking milk he took off for our bedroom. Bailey was in there because she needed to go out to go potty, but not quite yet. He made it past the gate, and started petting her. They are nice to each other in the mornings (not always in the evenings). So then he wanted up on our bed, and started petting her some more. Then our conversation was as follows...
"Are you being nice to Bailey" -Mom
"No" -Carter
(he was being nice to Bailey)
"Can you give Bailey a kiss" -Mom
(he looks at Bailey and contemplates)
(Still looking at Bailey)
"NO, tongue" -Carter

I had to laugh so hard when he said it. It was the cutes thing ever!

Then the conversation followed with...
"Dad?"- Carter
"Dads taking a shower and getting clean" -Mom
"Socks?" -Carter
"Yeah dad is going to need socks"- Mom
(Carter goes into the sock drawer and gets him socks for Dad)
(Continues on to the bathroom opens the door and hands dad the socks)

And after all the talking this morning, all he wants to do is watch Clifford! He is on a Clifford kick right now, and wants nothing else!

BIG BOY ALERT!!!

Well I have big news from our house so I can finally update with some cool news to share. Carter has been getting stuck in his crib, because he is swinging his legs all over, and I am getting sick of having to get up to a screaming boy who ends up with bruises on his knees. So last night he became a big boy! He had gotten up a few times, but I went in told him it was bed time, and he laid down again. After three times I realized that the mini blind wasn’t shut, so he probably didn’t think it really was bed time. So I laid on the floor by him, and after about 10 to 15 minutes of holding my finger he was fast asleep. Sad that my baby is no longer in a baby bed, no longer in baby clothes, and has a mind of his own. That was the great headline coming out of our house.... BIG BOY Alert!
(Here he looks like he is plotting something)

(Trying out what you can do in the Big Boy bed)

Enjoying the wonderful cold winter......

It was warmer than it has been in a long time so we decided to make our way outside, get the mail, and slide around a little. Its a pretty long process in order to go outside. But Carter did have fun when we were outside.

Like Father like son...

So Carters eating habits are starting to be a lot like Jeremy's eating habits. If anyone knows Jeremy he doesn't eat anything in my eyes. But one thing he does like is DORITOS. Chips are part of groceries, that if you missed chips, you didn't get groceries. Carter had the chance to have Doritos, and now he gets very mad when he sees the bag, and doesn't realize that dad just didn't throw it away, and they are all gone.

Plowing some snow....

Jeremy and I have always said that people have kids, so that they have slaves. Well we decided that Carter needs to learn a few "chores" around the house. Well OK not really, but he wanted to learn the Chores all on his own! And let me tell you that he was pretty mad when he couldn't plow anymore!
Driving the four wheeler by my self!

Helping dad plow, sometimes he is to wimpy to plow it all!

Taking a break for a banana at grandma and grandpas

Dad needed more help!

Taking a break from throwing a fit to watch the Backyardigans.

(Still mad cause dad thinks he can do it by himself)

"Meet the band"

Bang Bang Clink Bang Bang....sounds like a great song right....well you are right its a great song. Well cant wait till he gets up in the morning and wants to play the DRUMS! You are right Carter got a drum set from some of our friends. And we still call them friends too. But don't worry we will be getting back at them. They have two kids one of which is our godson, and both him and his sister have birthdays coming up. And we are going to be the best god parents ever and find him the noisiest toy ever!

Here comes the piggy....

So yesterday Jeremy and Carter were playing here comes the piggy. It was just a riot watching Carter laugh every time Jeremy said here comes the piggy. I had to record it!

Momma got her little boy back

Finally!!!! After only trying two times, almost giving up completely Carter was able to sit still for his haircut. It was only his third, but he didn't want to sit or have any one touch his wonderful girly looking hair. I had thought it would be cute, to have his hair a little longer, not like a girl long, but just longer. Well I was getting sick of the girly hair. So I tried on Thursday to get it cut, and he wanted nothing to do with the lady. She gave him a sucker, and he still wanted nothing to do with her. Finally we went today and I thought ok so if he doesn't sit, I will call my friend Melissa who gave her son a hair cut not to long ago. Or my other option was the dreaded shaved head...(which I hate)! Well he didn't want the lady to touch him today, but then i distracted him, and well she gave him the water bottle and told him to squirt the mirror. He just kept squirting himself. Pretty interesting I might say. We left and his shirt was all went but he got through the hair cut. Now it looks a little funny, because its so short, but he now looks like a handsome little ham! I will post pictures later. He is sleeping, and I was a bad mom and didn't have my camera with when we got the hair cut. Horrible I know!

Diaper, Dvd, more juice

Today I have come to the understanding that I am only good for changing Carters diapers, and then changing the DVD, and getting him more juice. And then it repeats. He has been super independent today, and I tried to give him milk, and he wanted juice, so he threw a fit. So then I asked him "do you want milk or juice" and he pointed to milk. So i guess he just wants the options given to him.

All day today (and like any other day) i have been constantly changing the DVD for him, and every time i change it, he watches for about hmmm....90 seconds, then walks away. But once I walk away to do something, he wants a different movie. So I have given up. I say thank god we have a 5 disc changer!

When I changed a poopie diaper today I said "oh you stink bad. Why do you stink" his response was "DAD". So i guess it was the pasta that they had last night. Yum yum I say.

Well on another note, I feel that time is going by super fast with Carter. I told people to get him clothes for Christmas, and after getting the clothes that he did, he needs to hurry up and wear them cause he is getting to big. He got a Gophers sweatsuit, and he wore the sweatshirt yesterday, and it fit him perfect. 3T oh my good gravy grandma!

The end and the beginning

Today I finally had enough courage up to log on to find out what my grades were for the fall semester. I knew, that I have a "D" for my college algebra class, and I was pretty upset about it because, that was the worst grade that I have ever gotten. I really don't remember even getting a "C". But I had failed both tests, and well I was short 14 points so I landed the worst grade ever. I thought back in December that I wouldn't graduate, and I was pretty sure of that. Jeremy's response was just take it over. That's easy for him to say. Well after logging on today, I checked my DARS report, and it says that I have successfully finished everything that is needed. This is the end, and also the beginning. I have decided to continue on. Yeah I just like having so much going on, a huge amount of stress, and no time to spend with family. Well not really, but with the economy the way that it is, I feel that why not continue on, because I have a job that is able to pay the bills, and I am in the grove of things. But, I am going to take this semester off to spend some much needed time with the family and since we are planing on the remodel, I felt it was better to just take off. I really hate having a remodel, but we need the space. This way I can decide upon where I want to finish up my degree. Southwest State or Bethany.

My mom says now I know what it is like to feel like Ben. We all knew that he would graduate, it would just take a lot of prayer. And that is exactly how I felt.

So now I am a ton of free time on my hands and I am actually loving it!!
