Daycare dilema

Ok so I have been stressing out a little over daycare lately. So Carter is suppose to be in the best place ever when we are at work. Well I really felt that he was in the best place ever. I understand that children get sick, and lazy people just send their sick kids to daycare when they are not the healthiest. And that in turn creates a multiple affect on other children.

Carter was picked up Monday and "was not himself all day". Oh well fine, we got home and he had a fever of 102. So pushed the Tylenol and got the fever to come down. Tuesday he just seemed to be a little better but still had a fever so we decided to keep him home another day because I would rather give him more time to get better. So come 10 am he was back to his monster ways, and into everything. So fine we sent him on Wednesday, and when I went to pick him up they had two illnesses going around daycare.

First was on July 17Th pneumonia went around, and we were spared cause he wasn't there that day. Then on July 18Th Hand Food and Mouth Disease went around. So whatever I didn't think anything of it. I also found out that he was bitten by a girl again on Wednesday. We went to Mankato to get a new phone for myself because Carters spit and my phone didn't mix. So we had to go to Target and get a few things, I changed his diaper and noticed a blister on his hand.....thought back and figured he just got HFMD.

Jeremy took him to the doctor today for a check up on his lungs and ears, and he does have HFMD. Great right.....well sure it means that someone has to stay home with him. I guess I am more upset because people are stupid and can't just stay home with their children when they are sick so that other children don't get sick.

So I had to stop and pay daycare today, and also give our two weeks notice because of their rate increase, and the fact that we only need part time daycare, we have found a new daycare provider. Not liking the fact that we have to switch, but a savings of 60 dollars a week is a great thing when it comes to daycare costs. I just feel so bad because Jennifer knows Carter sometimes better than we know Carter so I am going to be sad that she doesn't get to teach him new things, but she understood or I hope she did.

So now that I have all that off my chest...I feel just much better.

Home Sick

Today I was home sick and my loving husband stayed home to care for Carter because he was sick. It was so nice. I was able to sleep and get better while he took care of our monster baby. He has had a temp also, and think its due to teeth. But because of the temp, he cant go to daycare. So dad was able to take care of both mom and Carter today. Such a sweet heart. Thats why I love him....he might not ever do it again, but today was pretty nice.

Family Picnic

So we were able to enjoy a little family picnic with my dad's side of the family. Or in other words a great day at the park! Fun had by all. Not sure if Carter had more fun, or if the big kids had more fun. We were able to see my great aunt and uncle, Del and Deloras from Arizona. We were also able to see a lot more family which was nice. Seems like every year we don't see family and each year it gets worse and worse. When we were younger it seemed like we were always getting together, maybe its because we had grandma and grandpa to make sure people gathered. Lives are busy, people have more things going on and Family get togethers go by the wayside. Kind of sad. I remember going for picnics all the time when I was younger. Taking KFC along, and getting to play when we were done eating. Or playing....Pooh Sticks at Seven mile, and you were always trying to get your stick to the other side first. The good old days. It seems like now we just try to cram to much into one day, and we are dealing with so many different work schedules.
