Fever, Runny nose, and cranky baby OH MY!!!
Ok so its been a pretty rough weekend at our house. First we started Thursday with Carter getting his second molar. Great right....well that's what I thought. Only to find out that the next two were not far behind. Friday he woke up with a temp of 102.1. We can handle that except we both had to work Friday, and with Jeremy and his back problems, he is down to 4 hours of PTO until January 1st. The other problem was that I was already at work. Jeremy called, said he had a fever, and that he is going to try and get out of work at noon. Hopefully daycare doesn't call until after noon if she calls. Colleen was very nice about giving him Tylenol at daycare, and keeping an eye on him.
Along comes Friday night....and we have a baby that has a fever of 103.2, and two very upset parents that both have to work the next day. He had already had a bath, but I called my mom and she said throw him in the tub (well not literally). So I did. He loved getting 2 baths in one night, and it did cool him down. But then he drank some water, inhaled the water, and threw up. That then made me even more upset, because not only was he sick but I was covered in unpleasant smelling vomit. And the worst part, IT NEVER HAPPENS TO DAD! So got him to bed, but lone behold, he was awake at 3 am, with a fever of 103.5. And I had to be to work in less than 2 hours. Since we have to work when we are scheduled, or find a replacement what do you do but just want to cry. I didn't have time for that so I got him in bed with us, towel on his head, bottle to chew on, and Tylenol. Fever was down to 101.2 by the time I was getting ready to head to work. Right before I walked out the door, it was at 100.0 So I was happy, just not happy to go to work.
Grandma and Grandpa Reintjes had him all day Saturday, and his fever was never over 101, so that was a good thing. Jeremy was calling all day checking up on him, but hey Carter did just fine. And Saturday evening he was able to see uncle Ben and auntie Devan so that just made his day. He was pumped, and super tired because he only had an hour nap. But we made it all night without waking up, and a slight fever in the morning on Sunday. But we enjoyed our Sunday shopping, and a peaceful evening at home. Slight fever, but we also popped molar number 3 through, so only one to go.
My mom kept telling me that the molars are the worst so I guess its down hill from here!
Oh and he is able to get into the recliner by himself, and sit and watch TV. Its the cutest thing ever. Smart little boy learns from his male role models.
PS. The roughest part of the weekend....It Is Over Already!
